I was commissioned to do a couple paintings for a gal at work. The first painting was a recreation from a small picture she had found on the interwebs. It was fun to re-create a chalk-board type look on the canvas. I added a white-wash to the dark background to make it look like erased chalk!

After the base was done-- writing on the font was easy to do with a paint-pen!

The second one was a bit more fun-- I started out by decoupaging newsprint to a canvas.
I mixed water with white acrylic and added a thin layer of paint to the FANTASTIC state of Minnesota ;) I then sanded everything down a bit after it dried.
A steady hand and a tiny brush-- and voila! A lucky bride has an original one-of-a-kind painting for her guests to sign!
